Family Trip to Jhargram

Trips are rejuvenating. One trip every few months helps a lot in refreshing your mind and preparing you for the monotonous days ahead. Jhargram happened under such a circumstance. We had not gone on any big tour for more than a year and I was getting restless. So, my father finally arranged this small tour to West Midnapore district of West Bengal.
Though we mostly stayed in Jhargram, we covered a lot of the district West Midnapore.

Jhargram KanakDurga Temple:

This temple looked like an old dilapidated temple. A priest was there at the time who worshipped the Goddess. He told us a story of a gold bangle that was gifted in the name of the Goddess to aid the construction of the temple..The place was peaceful in the day and seemed to be quite intimidating in the evening.

Rameshwar Temple Road:

Located on the bank of Subarnarekha, this is one beautiful temple that will speak of the rich culture and heritage that is there.

Subarnarekha River:

My favourite place in all of Jhargram was the Subarnarekha river. There was not much water when we visited, but the river was beautiful as always.

Tapoban:

Since we visited this place back in 2016, I couldn’t recall much about this place. Though we did click a picture there that I am adding below.

Ghagra Waterfall:

The waterfall was pretty disappointing. The rocks were all inscribed with love proposals. Couples were seated here and there. And we made it a little uncomfortable for them.

Mukutmanipur Dam:

Visiting this dam turned to be quite a chore for us. We had to wait an hour or so to enter. But the view made it all worth it.

Besides these, we also visited a bird sanctuary where even though we couldn’t spot many birds, we witnessed a stunning sunset.
